It's that time of year when the seasons change, the nights get darker, the days get colder, and everyone is in need of candles, red wine and a snuggly blanket. Although a summer girl myself, even I love the way you can transform your home in the autumn to create a cosy sanctuary, with the addition of just a few new accessories.

Candles and Scent
As soon as the dark evenings roll in, the candles are lit every night in my home. During the autumn, create a cosy, homely feeling by choosing a scented candle such as 'Winter' (item 9) from the White Company, which has a warm, spicy scent and notes of cinnamon and orange. Unscented pillar candles placed in lanterns around you home will create a warm homely glow, as well as being a beautiful accessory.
Soft Furnishings
Layering and texture are key when styling with soft furnishings, particularly in the autumn when you'll want an abundance of throws and cushions to keep you warm. Try swapping your cushions with some colourful burnt orange tones, and adding in some autumnal patterns. Number 1 and 3 make a perfect pair. Add in the beautiful cream merino wool throw to complete your luxurious layered look.
Faux Foliage
Bring the outdoors in this season with some dried autumnal foliage. Pampas grass is all the rage at the moment, and paired with some burnt orange faux beech leaves (item 2) it creates a warm and rich autumn display for your home. I like to place my faux stems in ceramic jugs or oversized vases, and display them in the centre of the dining table or console table.
